Our Listings
Church Angel listings are designed
to help people find local churches as quickly as
possible. Unlike search engines, the Church Angel data
base requires only three clicks to find most churches
that have requested a list or link. Proper spelling is
not required since the cities are already listed.
Churches that have a link directly
to their church web site are easy to find. Because the
link requires a click on your mouse to the church web
site, the possibility of mis-typing the web address has
been eliminated.
While we try to maintain current
listings, it is the responsibility of the various
churches to keep us informed of any changes.
Church Angel does not charge for
its services and has a commercial web business for
support.
About Community
Churches: We receive daily requests
from churches with the name "Community Church" in
their title. The majority of these churches are not
"Community Churches." Except for two or three
mainline denominations, every denomination has used the
"Community Church" in their church name. Therefore,
if you are looking for a true "Community Church"
using our listings, please check with the church to find the
actual denomination of that church. We estimate that less
than fifteen percent are actual Community Churches. This also
applies to "Christian Churches", "Christian
Fellowship" and a few others.
About LDS and Jehovah
Witnesses: When the original
templates were used in 1997, we included the Mormons and
Jehovah Witnesses. This year we are deleting those listings
as each city is updated. The cities are updated when we
receive a church request for that city.
About our template: There are approximately 440 plus
Christian denominations. If we were to classify each
denomination, our template page would be very long. We do not
use the Yellow Page format. We group the primary
denominations together unless we receive a special request
for a denomination we do not list.
About area codes: Due to the rapid change of area
codes, we update the area code of a city when we receive a
church request for that city.
About our web site in
general: We average
250 hits per hour from visitors to our web site. Church Angel
is on the first page of virtually any search engine, when
"church directory" is typed in the search box. We
are located 6014 feet above sea level near the continental
divide in western Montana. Our server is located in Chicago
IL and is connected into the backbone of the internet for
fast connections.
